Isis — Holy Tears
I remember seeing Isis at MIT (Millvalle Idustrial Theatre) in Pittsburgh which was nothing more than a run down warehouse with a bunch of old couches rescued from somebody’s garbage. Might have been 50 people in the audience. 13 years later they called it quits.
At that show I had a brief conversation with Aaron of Isis and founder of Hydra Head Records and he hooked me up with some releases from the label. Little did I know at the time the label would release albums for some of my future favorite bands like Cable, Cave In, Converge, Botch, Daughters and so on.
They have released a bunch of live recordings post breakup. You can find some of them streaming at metalsucks.net

Boy Sets Fire — After the Eulogy
Often this is the song I listen to if I need pumped up. I’ll put this on when I’m trying to get into a design groove or trying to plow my way through a bunch of production work.
The band itself has various tones, some songs are hardcore anthem style like the song above and others are a much softer like “When Rhetoric Dies”. The majority of the lyrics are politically charged.
I don’t think my 13 year old nephew could find the save button.
